Escape From The Bay is a service operated by Kyle Scott ("we", "us"), based on forecasts by the team at Sentinel. This policy describes what information we collect through escapefromthebay.com and how we use it.
When you subscribe we collect your email address, optionally your mobile phone number, and your alert-threshold preferences. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
We use your email address and phone number solely to deliver the service you signed up for: a confirmation of your subscription, and an alert if our forecasting team judges that the risk threshold you chose has been met. We do not use your contact information for marketing.
We will not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or any other purpose. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone. Your number is used only to send you the messages described below, via the carrier and messaging provider needed to deliver them.
If you opt in to text messages, expect up to 2 messages per year: alerts when our forecasters deem the likelihood of catastrophe in the Bay Area to exceed your chosen threshold, plus a message confirming your subscription. Message and data rates may apply depending on your service plan.
Reply STOP to any of our text messages to cancel at any time, or HELP for help. You can stop all messages by cancelling your subscription or writing to us at ops@nunosempere.com.
We keep your information while your subscription is active. Email us at ops@nunosempere.com to request deletion of your data.
Users who only provide their email will also receive alerts via email but not via SMS message.
If we change this policy we will post the updated version on this page.
