Escape From The Bay is a subscription alert service operated by Kyle Scott. The forecasting team at Sentinel monitors the probability of a catastrophe in the Bay Area. If, in our judgment, the risk exceeds the threshold you chose when subscribing, we send you an alert by email and, if you opted in, by text message, telling you to leave.
By providing your phone number and checking the consent box on our signup form, you agree to receive automated text messages from us: alerts when Sentinel forecasters deem the likelihood of catastrophe in the Bay Area to exceed a certain amount, and texts confirming your subscription. Expect up to 2 messages per year. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase; you can subscribe with email alerts only.
Message and data rates may apply depending on your service plan. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. After you reply STOP we may send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
The subscription is billed monthly through Stripe at the price shown on the signup page. The price decreases as more people sign up; the price you pay is the one in effect when you subscribed. You can cancel at any time by writing to ops@nunosempere.com.
Our alerts reflect the good-faith probabilistic judgment of the Sentinel forecasting team. Forecasting is uncertain: we may send an alert for a catastrophe that never materializes, or fail to anticipate one that does. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and does not constitute safety, medical, financial, or legal advice. You remain responsible for your own decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kyle Scott's total liability to you is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle your data. We do not share your mobile number or opt-in consent with third parties.
We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted on this page. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
